Management and development of historical gardens

Master’s degree - Academic year 2024/2025

The aim of the Master’s degree course is to train highly specialised professionals in the management, ecological protection, social use and cultural promotion of the heritage of historical parks and gardens. The course takes a dual approach: cultural growth and experience in the field, which will take place in the gardens of the Savoy residences of Venaria, Stupinigi, Palazzo Reale and Villa della Regina in Turin.

During the lecture cycles, students will learn about the historical development of the gardens, the regulations governing protection, the planning systems for green areas, the principles of landscape architecture and the basics of agronomical and botanical sciences.

During the applied training phase, the students will work at the royal residences, supervised by specialised staff with considerable experience in the field. Visits abroad to prestigious residences with public parks are also planned, taking advantage of the European network of relations of the Consorzio delle Residenze Reali Sabaude.

The Master will take place between February and December 2024.
